Upcoming 9/11 Never Forget Trail Run Will Honor Veterans and First Responders
August 1, 2023
Livingston County Veteran Services, Howell Recreation, and local first responder organizations are proud to host the first annual 9/11 Never Forget 5K Trail Run/Walk to honor veterans and first responders. September 11th had a profound effect on all of us. “That fateful day changed our lives forever. For the next 20 years, servicemembers fought on unforgiving terrain to keep the enemy at bay as first responders protected the Homefront and adjusted their tactics to a volatile world,” explained Veteran Services Director Ramon Baca. “Together, we can ensure no one in this community ever forgets.”
The race will be held on September 16, 2023 at Fillmore County Park (7075 McClements Rd. in Brighton). Everyone is welcome to attend, whether taking part in the race or not. Stop by to grab lunch from the Hallboy BBQ food truck and pick up some raffle tickets. You can get 5 tickets for $5 or 12 for $10. Some of the raffle prizes include gift cards to local restaurants like Abberant Ales, a detailing package from Brighton Ford, and a golf package from Chemung Hills Golf Club.
To guarantee a shirt and finisher medal, register online before August 16th for $25. A portion of the raised funds will benefit Livingston County Parks. Interested in volunteering? We have plenty of different areas to help out from directing parking, race course guides, handing out water and medals, and more. Sign up to volunteer and get a free t-shirt!
