K9 Team Sheriff's Office

Our K-9 Unit has several jobs. They protect officers and civilians when we arrest criminal offenders, quickly discover evidence, and search for missing persons.

K-9 Units also serve as a link between the department and the community. When used in demonstrations, exhibitions, and special events, they open lines of communication and understanding. The presence of the K-9 can stimulate conversation and help citizens become comfortable speaking with law enforcement. People also perceive increased security during demonstrations and special events when K-9 units are around.
