Our Central Records Division is responsible for a variety of tasks including fingerprinting, pistol purchase permits, local records checks, and FOIA requests.

Obtaining a Police Report

Traffic Crash Reports

You can pick up a copy of your traffic accident report in our office during our normal business hours or purchase it for a $15 fee on the Michigan State Police website. Some reports can take five to seven days to be completed and ready for release.

Criminal Reports/Field Contacts

All other police reports can be obtained by submitting a FOIA request online through the Livingston County website or requesting it at our Office. Please be aware that some reports may require a FOIA request to be submitted. Most reports take 7 -10 days to be processed.
