All proposed domestic orders, including Judgments of Divorce, Custody, Child Support, Spousal Support and miscellaneous orders related to Custody, Paternity, Parenting Time or Child Support must be filed with the Livingston County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office. Proposed orders should not be submitted directly, either in-person or via email, to the Friend of the Court. Once receipted by the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office, the proposed order will be sent to the Friend of the Court Office for review and approval pursuant to the requirements of MCR 3.211.
After approval by the Friend of the Court Office, the proposed order will be returned to the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office, to be uploaded into the Court’s electronic management system for the assigned Judge’s signature.
If a proposed order is not approved by the Friend of the Court, it will be returned via regular mail to the attorneys of record or the parties, if not represented by counsel. A revision sheet will be included with instructions on how to correct the document. Upon correction, the revised proposed order should be filed with the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office.
