Please Note: 36″ silt fence is required on all construction sites unless the inspector waives the requirement or approves an alternate. Use of any alternative SESC measure requires inspector approval.
Soil erosion and its resulting sedimentation to water systems are identified as the #1 threat to surface waters of the State of Michigan. Each year, millions of tons of soil are deposited into waterways and millions of dollars are spent correcting the problems resulting from this form of environmental impact.
Residential Projects
All residential plans must be reviewed for Soil Erosion and Sediment Controls by the Inspector prior to permit issuance.
Commercial Projects
All commercial plans must be reviewed for Soil Erosion and Sediment Controls by the Inspector prior to application.
