Jury Questionnaire
Livingston County citizens are called upon to participate in the court system by serving as jurors. If you are selected for jury service, you will receive a jury summons. The jury summons is an official court document and you must respond to it. You could be held in criminal contempt if you do not respond to the jury summons.
Juror Selection
The juror selection process is set forth by Michigan law. The process involves the random selection by a computer program from a list of individuals who have Livingston County locations registered on their driver’s license and personal ID cards. As a result, Livingston County Court staff have nothing to do with selection. You can respond to your Jury Questionnaire online.
The individual whose name is on the Juror summons must either appear or be excused prior to the dates of service. A spouse, friend or neighbor cannot substitute for you.
Reporting
Please report on time at your designated service time. Do not bring children, relatives or friends with you. If you do not appear, you can be charged with criminal Contempt of Court, then fined and imprisoned, or both.
When to Report
Begin calling the Jury Hotline at (517) 715-4122 after 5:30 p.m. the Friday before your term of service begins. There will be recorded instructions regarding your jury service. Please listen to them carefully.
