Court Transcripts
Court transcripts are a written record of everything that is said during court proceedings, including the Judge’s rulings, attorneys’ arguments, witnesses’ testimony, and any other statements made in the courtroom. They are important for many reasons, such as to ensure an accurate account of what occurred during a trial or hearing, to facilitate appeals, and to provide a historical record of Court proceedings. If you need a copy of a Court transcript, you can request it from the Livingston County Circuit Court.
How to Request Transcripts
To request an official transcript of Court proceedings, take the following steps:
- Submit a completed Transcript Request Form via email to ccadmin@livgov.com, fax at (517) 546-0048, or deliver it to the Circuit Court Administration Office.
- The Court will authorize an individual or an outside company to produce the transcript from official Court files.
- The firm or individual that will be preparing the transcript will contact you to discuss costs, timing, and payment for services.
- You will arrange with the transcript provider to have the transcript e-mailed, mailed, or picked up.
