Inspection Request Line

Inspections can be scheduled until midnight. We are currently scheduling inspections for the next 24 hours and further out.

1. Call (517) 546-3830.
2. Press 1 to schedule an inspection.
3. If your permit starts with:
   • BLD – Press 1
   • ELE – Press 2
   • MEC – Press 3
   • PLM – Press 4
   • COD – Press 5
4. Enter the number portion of the permit number, followed by the # key.
5. Enter the three digit inspection code from the Inspection Codes list.
6. Listen while your entry is repeated back to you. If there are any problems, you will be given further information.
7. You will be given a confirmation number. Record your confirmation number and transactions, in case you need them for future reference.

Please Note: You can always schedule an inspection online.

All cancellations must be made before 5 a.m. Inspections scheduled for work that is not ready may be charged re-inspection fees.
